7.30.2002Danny Howells 1 Year Anniversary - 07.27.02How fast time flies! As many things change in clubland, so many things stay the same. Vinyl is now refashioned as Arc Space and Danny is still doing his marathon sets to the dedicated throngs. I wonder how much of his audience has grown since the first big blow-out last July 3rd. It seems the crowd is getting smaller or maybe clubbers are just getting older and optig for a quieter Saturday night. Even for me how times have changed. Last year, I joined the crazy marathon party at Vinyl near 4 am after flying in from Ibiza just earlier that day. This year, I found myself at Arc a little after 4 am, but this time it was after a 4 hour disco nap. *sigh* From all accounts though the entire night was a stellar party - my highlights include a remix of 80s classic Animotion's 'Obsession' as soon as I walked in the doors and the new single from Underworld 'Two Month's Off' - a dancefloor stormer that is making the summer rounds. Plus, Bill Patrick DJing in the back room now dubbed the "Arcade." Though after only four hours of dancing, I had to drag my weary body home. posted on 5:23 PM About Last Night :: Archive |
